Once they got it right…

Best movie of the year ‘Crush’ I got the chance to see it recently and I have to say hats off. For once they got it right. A movie that stays with you, in the league of movies such as ‘21gramms’ ‘Inside I ‘m dancing’. Movies that are foremost about the characters and the story. Not about the latest effects or the coolest good/bad guy, the / sexiest good/bad girl

Spoils of war…

Or in other words, perks of the job. One of my best friends was recently in London on a conference. Thus, I had the chance to visit, catch up, run some more the company tab and heard of numerous hilarious stories of what is going on when the company sends them to such conferences…Stories ranging from people supposed to turn to meeting but being to drunk to attend to. Ordering and charging at each other’s room hm well… educational programs on tv. Our project meeting at university seem very very tame in comparison. After a two days of meetings all we got was dinner at a greek restaurant –which well with me being greek comes miles behind mom’s cooking…

The bazaar…

A city of 7 mils and one can not find red shoe laces (for placing them on white sneakers with red stripes), in the centre but such laces can be found in Camden town.

An area in London well known for its open market with stalls selling from leather items to .. anything really. Really cool place to go shopping, perhaps not for electronics, everyday clothing or required houseware items, but go shopping with the ‘primal’ meaning of the term. Go shopping to explore, to discover things that are not required, yet they form this extra something, without being instilled in us through marketing and promotions. The rich variety of food one can get at the stalls, Mexican next to Chinese, next to Moroccan completes the picture with the perfect setting for a lazy relaxed stroll, Sunday morning to afternoon.

Aggregation of coincidences…

Returning in the same places to find them unchanged – only to discover ways in which yourself has changed. So true. I happened to be out the last two Fridays in places / areas of London I have not been for 3 and 4 years respectively. The first place stroke a chord due to its location. London, Hampstead, an area full of memories of certain person(s), and a certain era long bygone. The second place was a club. Guanabara. An excellent brazilian bar/club. This time it was even better, as it had a live band from one of the schools of samba in London. Had a really amazing time, having old memories stirred.
